Tallow + goat milk,
cured by hand in Florida.
Natural Beauty, No Guesswork®
Founded in 2017 by Jen Keel on a working farm in Myakka City, Florida. Every soap is cold-process, made in small batches with grass-fed beef tallow, fresh goat milk, raw on-farm honey, and a short list of plant ingredients. No fragrance oils. No preservatives. No fillers. Cured at least 28 days before it ever leaves the rack.

What's actually in the jar.
Eight ingredients carry every Pretty Farm Girl formula. Most come from the farm itself — what isn't farm-sourced is small-batch and traceable. The shorter the list, the harder it works.
The base of every soap and most creams. Palmitic + oleic + stearic fatty-acid profile mirrors human sebum more closely than any plant oil — which is why tallow penetrates instead of sitting on top.
Fresh from our goats, never powdered. Naturally lactic-acid forward, which gently lifts dead skin without stripping. The soft, calcium-creamy lather is goat milk doing its work.
Live-culture goat milk. Adds gentle probiotic ferment to masks and creams — supports the skin's microbiome rather than scrubbing it off.
Pulled straight from our hives. Naturally antibacterial + humectant — pulls moisture into the skin instead of locking it out. Used in soaps, masks, and the lip butter.
From the same hives. The cap of a balm or lip butter — a breathable seal that holds tallow + oils against skin without occluding pores like petroleum does.
The gentlest clay in the family. Lifts excess oil without pulling moisture. Used in cleansing grains and masks for sensitive + reactive skin.
Tanacetum annuum — the indigo-blue oil from our Blue Beauty Cream. Naturally rich in chamazulene, a calming compound studied for redness + reactive skin.
Rose, pomegranate, coffee bean — selected oils used at the serum level. Cold-pressed not solvent-extracted, so the antioxidant profile survives the bottle.

I started this farm because my skin demanded it.
I am Jen Keel. I bought this farm in 2017 after years of fighting my own skin — eczema, psoriasis flares, the kind of dryness that makes you afraid of your own bathroom mirror. Every modern moisturizer I tried made it worse. I started reading old farm books and the answer kept surfacing: tallow. The fat my great-grandmother would have rendered without a second thought.
So I learned to render it. Then I learned to make soap. Then I bought goats so I would never run out of milk for it. Then I kept the bees so I would have honey and beeswax. Eight years later, this farm is still the supply chain — we use what we make and we make what we sell. Every batch is cold-process, mixed by hand on a kitchen-counter scale, and cured for at least twenty-eight days before it leaves the rack.
Pretty Farm Girl exists because I refused to keep paying labs to confuse me. Tallow is not a fad and goat milk is not a trend — they are the things humans put on skin for five thousand years before someone decided to put petroleum jelly in a tube and call that progress. Natural beauty. No guesswork. That is the whole brand and it is also the whole farm.

Cold-process is slow on purpose. Heat-shortcut soap saves a week and loses the crystalline structure that makes a tallow bar last. We don't shortcut.
Grass-fed tallow rendered slow and clean, weighed to the gram with the lye-water and goat milk. Lye-to-fat math is non-negotiable — wrong by 0.1% and the bar burns or doesn't saponify.
Tallow + lye-water + goat milk emulsify by hand to trace — the moment the batter holds its shape. No external heat. The chemistry produces its own warmth as it saponifies.
Poured into wood-and-silicone log molds. Twenty-four hours later we unmold and hand-cut into bars. Edges are bevelled by hand, never machine-stamped.
Each bar sits on an open wooden rack for at least four weeks. Excess water evaporates, the soap crystals tighten, and the bar gets harder + longer-lasting in your shower.
Labeled with the batch date, wrapped in compostable paper, and shipped from the farm. A bar leaves the rack only when its full 28-day cure is logged. No exceptions.

The honey is ours.
Most natural skincare brands buy honey from a broker. Ours comes from hives we keep on the same Florida pasture where the goats graze. Unpasteurized, unfiltered, single-apiary. It's why the lip butters smell like a hot Florida afternoon and the wild-rose mask never needs a synthetic preservative — raw honey is its own preservative.
Bees first. Bars second. Always in that order.Made for the skin you actually have.
Cosmetic categories — not medical claims. These are the skin types our community formulates around because tallow + goat milk + raw honey behave kindly with all of them.
Pretty Farm Girl products are cosmetics, not medical treatments. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. If you have a diagnosed skin condition, consult your dermatologist before changing your routine.
From the kitchen counter.
The questions Jen actually gets every week.
Is tallow safe for my face?
Tallow's palmitic, oleic, and stearic fatty-acid profile is the closest plant-or-animal fat we have to human sebum — which means it absorbs without sitting on top, and it generally doesn't trigger breakouts the way heavier plant butters can. Properly rendered, grass-fed tallow is also rich in fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K2. The 2024 Cureus scoping review (PMC11193910) catalogues these properties in detail.
Why goat milk specifically — not cow's milk?
Goat milk's fat globules are smaller than cow's milk and its protein structure is gentler, which is why it's the dairy traditionally used in skincare from Cleopatra forward. It's also naturally lactic-acid forward — a mild AHA that lifts dead skin without the stripping you get from synthetic acids. Our goats are raised on this farm, milked by hand, never powdered.
Are these soaps okay for eczema and psoriasis?
We frame them as cosmetic, not medical — but tallow + goat milk are the most common combination requested by our eczema and psoriasis customers, and our Soft + Gentle Buttermilk Bar is intentionally fragrance-free for the most reactive skin. None of our bars contain SLS, fragrance oils, or synthetic preservatives. Always patch-test, and always consult your dermatologist for diagnosed conditions.
What does "cured 28 days" actually mean?
Cold-process soap continues to harden + saponify for weeks after pour. Curing = letting bars sit on an open wood rack for at least 28 days so excess water evaporates and the soap crystals tighten. A cured bar lasts roughly twice as long in your shower as a hot-process or melt-and-pour bar. We log the cure date on every batch.
Are the products fragrance-free? My skin reacts to scent.
Most of our soaps are scented only with essential oils — never synthetic fragrance oils. We also stock specifically fragrance-free options: Soft + Gentle Buttermilk Bar, Milk + Honey Fragrance Free Bar, and the Fragrance-Free Tallow + Honey Lip Butter. If you're highly reactive, start with a fragrance-free SKU and patch-test on the inside of your wrist for 48 hours.
