How to make a curl actually last the entire day

The hardest truth of wave-day haircare is that the curl you set at 8am is fighting gravity, humidity, scalp oil, and your own hands touching your hair for the next 14 hours. Most curls fall flat by early afternoon not because the iron was wrong — the iron was fine — but because the product underneath it wasn't built to hold a curl past the first hour.

How to layer Beachwaver for curls that actually hold

Five minutes at the sink, ten at the mirror, all-day waves. Here's the exact order.

Prep on damp hair

After shampoo, work Me & My Curls Creamy Mousse through damp (not wet) hair from mid-length to ends. A lime-sized amount for medium hair, double for thick. This is where curl memory is set.

Dry & set

Diffuse on low heat or air-dry. If you're using a curling iron (hello, Beachwaver®), wait until hair is fully dry. Pre-mousse holds the curl structurally — without it, you're fighting physics.

Root volume + texture

Spray Team Texture Dry Finishing Spray at the roots + through mid-lengths. Tilt head upside down, shake, flip back. This is the volume that photographs.

Lock + shine

Light mist of Everyday Flex hairspray around the crown and ends. Finish with Shine Squad from 10 inches away for mirror finish without crunch.

Next day: braid reset

Braid Balm on the mid-lengths, braid into 2–4 loose plaits, sleep. Next morning: take them out, shake, re-spray with Team Texture. Day-two waves often look better than day-one.

Does the haircare work on all hair types, or just people who already have curls?

Works on all hair types, with different use cases. Straight / wavy / 2A–2C: Use Me & My Curls before curling with any iron to give your hair curl memory that holds past noon. Curly 3A–3C: Use mousse on damp hair as a stand-alone curl-definer, diffuse, finish with Team Texture. Coily 4A–4C: Mousse as a styler + Braid Balm as a pre-protective-style prep. The line is built for wave-day, but the products aren't curl-exclusive.

Yes — the haircare was built for anyone styling waves or curls with any tool (or with none at all). Mousse, texture spray, braid balm, hairspray, and shine spray work with any curling iron, diffuser, or no-heat method (braid sets, flexi rods, plop drying). The iron is a complement, not a requirement.

How does Me & My Curls Mousse compare to Ouai Wave Spray and Amika Curl Corps?

Ouai Wave Spray is a salt spray — gives beachy texture but doesn't really 'hold' a curl long-term. Amika Curl Corps is closer in intent but silicone-heavier. Me & My Curls is a creamy mousse, which gives more curl-memory and hold-without-crunch than either sprays or gels. If you want beachy texture without structure: Ouai. If you want actual curls that last: Me & My Curls.

Are the body butters and beach-scented products safe for sensitive skin?

The Polynesian Pink Sugar and Bali Beach Night body butters are plant-based, formulated without parabens or sulfates, and use fragrance compositions tested against the common allergen list.
