The M-65 poncho liner — "the woobie" — is an Army-issue quilted nylon blanket originally designed to attach to a poncho for warmth in the field. Soldiers fell so in love with it that it became the most privately owned, non-issued piece of kit in the US military. They sleep with it, carry it everywhere, and refuse to leave it behind at PCS. Woobie Gear took that design obsession and built a civilian line — same warmth-to-weight fanaticism, upgraded materials, expanded formats.

The term "woobie" is US military slang for the M-65 field jacket liner — a quilted nylon poncho liner issued to soldiers as a cold-weather sleeping and warmth supplement. The blanket developed a cult following in the military because of its exceptional warmth-to-weight ratio and versatility. Soldiers historically retained their woobies through multiple deployments, PCS moves, and even after separation — carrying them long into civilian life.
