Cowhide. Fringe. Turquoise. Texas-rooted, hand-tooled.
A Texas-rooted Western leather house — hair-on cowhide purses, leather fringe, turquoise stone wallets, and the exclusive Beth Marie collaboration. Each piece is a one-of-one cowhide pattern; no two pieces are alike.
Chapter I
Texas leather, the long way around.
Western fashion has had its share of revivals — every decade or so, the industry rediscovers fringe and turquoise, sells the aesthetic back to itself, and moves on. Haute Southern Hyde works on a longer clock. The brand makes hair-on cowhide bags the way Texans have made hair-on cowhide bags for a century: each hide is unique, each pattern is one-of-one, and no two finished pieces are exactly alike.
The signature line is the cowhide-and-fringe purse — the Dallas, the Maria, the Golden Hour, the Jennie. Each silhouette is built around a single cowhide piece (hair side out), trimmed with full-grain leather fringe, and finished with brass or turquoise hardware. The hide variation is the design; you don't get to pick the exact pattern, because the pattern is what makes the piece yours.
The Beth Marie collaboration line — totes, canteens, crossbodies, concealed-carry — runs alongside the standard collection as a separate creative project, with a distinct silhouette language. Beth Marie pieces tend toward larger formats and statement detailing.

Five chapters, one ranch.
Chapter III — The Collaboration
The Beth Marie Line.
Beth Marie × Haute Southern Hyde is the exclusive collaboration line that anchors the brand's larger-format silhouettes — totes, canteens, crossbodies, wristlets, and concealed-carry. Each Beth Marie piece is signed and made in limited runs.
The collaboration started as a creative experiment — a designer-on-designer project with distinct hide-pattern direction and statement detailing. Pieces in the line include the Smoking Gun Tote (concealed-carry), the Wyatt Canteen, the Don't Chase Cowboys Crossbody, the Jolene, the Lancaster, the Elva, and the Santa Cruz.

Chapter V — The Promise
Four certainties.
One-of-One
Each hair-on cowhide piece uses a unique hide pattern. No two purses are exactly alike — your bag is yours.
Hand-Tooled
Hand-tooled leather work on selected pieces — including the Jennie and Beth Marie tooled wallets. Each tool mark made by hand.
Texas-Rooted
Designed and produced in Texas. Western tradition without the costume — pieces meant to wear, not just photograph.
Made-to-Stock
Limited inventory; small runs; seasonal restocks. When a Beth Marie exclusive sells through, the next run isn't guaranteed.
Chapter VI — Quick answers
The questions we get most.
What is hair-on cowhide?
Hair-on cowhide is full-grain cow leather with the natural hair coat preserved on the surface. The hide is processed to keep the hair stable (preventing shedding) while the underlying leather retains its natural pattern. Because each cow has a unique coat, each cowhide bag is a one-of-one — the pattern you see is the pattern you get.
Will my cowhide purse shed?
Properly tanned hair-on cowhide releases minimal hair after the first 1–2 weeks of use. Light shedding during break-in is normal and stops on its own. To minimize shedding, avoid brushing the hide — the natural coat lays flat. Keep the bag away from prolonged direct sunlight to prevent UV-induced color fading.
Are these bags genuinely Made in Texas?
Haute Southern Hyde is Texas-based and many of the leather pieces are made in Texas; specific-piece sourcing varies. The brand combines original Texas-made designs with Beth Marie collaboration pieces. Specific origin details are listed on individual product pages.
What's the difference between Haute Southern Hyde and the Beth Marie line?
The standard Haute Southern Hyde collection covers the brand's regular cowhide-and-fringe silhouettes — Dallas, Maria, Jennie, Golden Hour. The Beth Marie line is an exclusive collaboration with separate creative direction, larger silhouettes (totes, canteens), and includes the concealed-carry pieces. Beth Marie items are limited-run and individually labeled.
Are the turquoise stones real?
Real turquoise stone is used on the Turquoise Beauty Wallet and select belt buckles. The product description distinguishes between real-stone, stabilized-turquoise, and turquoise-color-finish pieces. Real turquoise has the natural matrix pattern (dark veining) and varies in color from sky-blue to green; stabilized turquoise is real stone treated for hardness; color-finish pieces are not stone.
Can I return a one-of-one cowhide bag?
Standard return policy applies — 14 days from delivery for unused condition. One-of-one cowhide pieces ship with a hide-pattern photo card so you can verify what you ordered before opening. The hide pattern variation is the design, not a defect; we don't accept returns based on pattern preference unless the bag was significantly different from the listed photos.
