Everviolet is a San Francisco–based lingerie and loungewear brand founded by Keira Kotler, a visual artist and breast-cancer survivor who tested over 200 bras during her own recovery and could not find anything that felt both comfortable and beautiful. The brand's Felice Post-Surgical Bra, Maia Front-Close Bra, and Vela Wireless Bra were designed specifically around what women's bodies need through surgery, recovery, pregnancy, menopause, and every stage in between. Featured in Vogue Business, Everyday Health, and SF Chronicle. Free US shipping.

Why Everviolet

What makes this different

01
Built around surgical recovery, not after it
The Felice Post-Surgical Bra was designed for the days, weeks, and months following a mastectomy or breast surgery when seams, underwire, and traditional closures are all painful. Wide soft straps, no underwire, seamless cups, front-close hook-and-eye — engineered for the body in recovery, not adapted from a retail bra pattern.
02
Front-close means you can actually get it on
After shoulder surgery, rotator-cuff injury, mastectomy reconstruction, or for anyone with limited overhead arm reach, a traditional back-close bra is impossible. The Maia Front-Close Bra opens at the sternum — you step into it, clasp the front, done. No reaching behind. No twisting torso. No pain.
03
Wire-free for every phase a body goes through
Pregnancy, post-partum, menopause, weight fluctuation, hormone changes — a body does not stay the same size and shape. The Vela Wireless Bra adapts across those phases. No underwire pressing on changing ribs, no fixed cup size fighting against tissue redistribution.
04
Beautiful — not compromise-beautiful
The hardest part of post-surgical bra shopping is that most options look medical. Beige, bulky, utilitarian. Everviolet's line is photographed like editorial lingerie because it IS editorial lingerie — soft mauves, blush, orchid, warm black. Modal fabric, lace trim. You wear it under the same clothes you always wore.
05
Loungewear that lives between appointments
The Maia Sustainable Jersey Cami and Calla Modal Kimono with Lace are the pieces you live in during recovery weeks — post-surgical downtime, fertility treatment, pregnancy nesting. Soft, beautiful, front-opening, durable through daily wash cycles.
06
Founded by Keira Kotler, survivor + designer
Keira Kotler founded Everviolet after her own breast cancer surgery in 2010 left her searching for a comfortable, beautiful recovery bra that did not exist. The brand is still San Francisco-based and still designed against what real survivors — tested on thousands — actually need.
The Everviolet story

Lingerie for women's wellness — every stage of a body.

Everviolet was founded in 2010 by Keira Kotler after her own breast cancer surgery. She tested over 200 bras during six months of recovery research, spoke with other survivors, and identified a persistent gap: post-surgical bras were engineered for clinical fit, but not for how the wearer wanted to feel in them. The brand exists to close that gap.

The line extends across every stage a woman's body goes through — puberty through menopause. The Felice Post-Surgical Bra for the most sensitive recovery window. The Maia Front-Close for everyday adaptive wear. The Vela Wireless for general everyday. The Maia Jersey Cami and Calla Modal Kimono for the loungewear hours of recovery. Designed in San Francisco, sold internationally, featured in Vogue Business, Everyday Health, and SF Chronicle.

Why Everviolet exists

Keira Kotler tested 200+ bras during her own breast-cancer recovery. None of them fit what she needed.

The standard post-mastectomy bra in 2010 was medical in every dimension — beige, boxy, engineered for clinical fit but not for the way the wearer wanted to feel. Keira was a visual artist. She wanted something she could put on and feel like herself in. She tested over 200 options across six months of research and spoke with other survivors who had lived the same shopping frustration. The gap was not subtle. Everviolet was built to fill it.

Every piece in the line traces back to specific recovery pain points — overhead-reach limitations after lymph-node surgery (front-close), underwire pressure on reconstruction tissue (no underwire), pain from conventional seams (seamless construction), emotional weight of feeling "medical" (editorial design language).

Everviolet Vela Wireless Bra editorial
San Francisco, 2010

Designed where it was needed. Tested by the people who needed it.

Keira Kotler founded Everviolet in San Francisco after her own post-surgical recovery made clear how underserved the post-mastectomy intimates category was. Each Everviolet piece is developed through extensive fit testing with survivors, oncology patients, and women navigating pregnancy, post-partum, and menopause.

The line is not a licensed-medical-device brand. It is a lingerie brand that happens to understand surgical recovery because its founder lived it. That distinction shapes everything — the visual identity, the fabric choices, the construction details. Beauty first, function inseparable.

Questions

Everviolet FAQ

Is Everviolet only for post-mastectomy / post-surgery customers?

No. Everviolet's design brief started with post-surgical recovery, but the resulting garments — wire-free, front-close or easy-close, beautiful, soft — work equally well for pregnancy, post-partum, menopause, weight fluctuation, chronic-pain conditions, or anyone who simply prefers wire-free comfort. The line is marketed as 'lingerie for women's wellness, puberty through menopause' precisely because the recovery-first design benefits a much wider audience.

Will a wire-free bra give me enough support?

For most customers in A–DD cup range, a well-designed wire-free bra (like the Vela or Maia) delivers support comparable to an underwire through structured cups, wide-band construction, and supportive strap engineering. For larger cup sizes, wire-free support has historically been weaker, but modern wire-free construction (including Everviolet's pattern work) handles up to DD well. If you are accustomed to a stiffly-engineered underwire, expect your first week in wire-free to feel looser — most customers describe that as 'finally comfortable' within 10–14 days.

What's the difference between the Maia Front-Close Bra and the Felice Post-Surgical Bra?

Both are wire-free, both are front-close. The difference is construction specificity: the Felice Post-Surgical Bra has seamless cups, wider soft straps, and additional gentle compression built for immediately post-surgical bodies where every seam creates pressure. The Maia Front-Close Bra is the everyday version — front-close convenience with everyday-comfort construction. Post-surgical customers often wear Felice for 8–12 weeks, then transition to Maia. Non-surgical customers typically start at Maia.

Can I wear Everviolet as a regular everyday bra?

Yes. The Vela Wireless Bra is specifically positioned as an everyday wire-free — it's the most-ordered piece among non-surgical customers. Comes in five colorways (orchid, mauve, white-blush, grey-mauve, black) and works under anything you'd normally wear a T-shirt bra with.

Is the Calla Kimono a robe or a nightgown?

The Calla Modal Kimono with Lace is a robe — worn over pajamas or lingerie, not as a standalone. Soft modal fabric with lace trim at the hem and sleeves. Designed for loungewear, recovery weeks, getting-ready moments. Not constructed for sleep.

Does Everviolet help with lymphedema compression needs?

Everviolet bras are not medical compression garments. If you have been prescribed Class 1 or Class 2 medical compression for post-surgical lymphedema, speak with your lymphedema therapist or oncologist about medically-rated compression wear. Everviolet's wire-free construction is gentle and comfortable, but it is lingerie — not a substitute for prescription compression. Many customers wear Everviolet layered over prescription garments for an everyday look.

Do you ship to all 50 states and handle returns?

Because Everviolet is intimate apparel, we follow a strict 30-day return policy for hygiene reasons: unworn with tags attached, original packaging.
