Most U.S. swim brands sell bikinis as fixed sets — top + bottom in matching size, fixed shape combination. Beau Swim doesn't. Each top is sold separately from each bottom because the right top size for a wearer almost never matches the right bottom size, and the right top shape (triangle, bandeau, underwire, plunge) almost never matches the right bottom shape (cheeky, Brazilian, high-waist, tie-side) for the same body.
The result: every bikini in the Beau Swim catalog is built as a customizable kit. Order the Ivana top in S, Black colorway. Order the Lauren bottom in M, White. The two pieces go together as one outfit. The next year, swap the Ivana top for the Mia top in the same colorway; the Lauren bottom still works.
For one-piece buyers: the Samira (in Lilac and Tiger), Celia, and Scarlette one-pieces follow standard one-piece sizing. Pull-on construction with adjustable straps where applicable. The plunge silhouettes work for resort wear; the cutout versions work for poolside.

Why are bikini tops and bottoms sold separately?
Most wearers don't size identically on top and bottom — chest/cup sizing rarely matches hip/waist sizing exactly. Selling tops and bottoms separately lets you customize the kit. The Ivana top in Small + Lauren bottom in Medium is a common combination at Beau Swim.
How do I size a Beau Swim bikini top?
Each bikini top product page includes specific measurements (cup capacity, chest band length, strap adjustment range). Generally: triangle tops fit S/M/L by cup volume; underwire tops fit traditional bra sizing (32-36 A-DD typical); bandeau tops fit S/M/L with adjustability through the straps.
Can I mix Beau Swim tops with bottoms from other brands?
Yes — bikini sizing is standardized enough that Beau Swim tops will pair with bottoms from most U.S. designer swim brands (and vice versa). The mix-and-match philosophy isn't tied to staying within Beau Swim. Color/print matching is generally easier within Beau Swim though.
Are the prints in Beau Swim seasonal or year-round?
Solid colorways (Black, White, Lilac, Pink, Orange) are year-round. Printed colorways (Tiger, seasonal florals) are typically seasonal — produced in limited runs. If you find a printed colorway you love, buy it during the current season; the next-year reorders aren't always available.
How do I care for designer swim?
Rinse with fresh water immediately after pool/ocean wear. Hand-wash in cold water with mild detergent (no fabric softener — degrades the elastane). Lay flat to dry away from direct heat. Avoid machine washing + tumble drying — both shorten the lifetime of swim fabric significantly.
How long does a Beau Swim piece last?
Properly cared for: 30-50 wear cycles before noticeable elastane degradation. The fabric loses some compression over time; chlorine + sun exposure are the main aging factors. Rotating multiple bikinis through the season + proper post-wear rinsing extends lifetime to 60-80 cycles.
Are one-pieces sized differently from bikinis?
Yes — one-pieces follow standard women's sizing (XS-XL or 0-12). Each one-piece product page has specific sizing. Generally: order true to size; underwire one-pieces fit slightly tighter at the bust; cutout one-pieces fit slightly looser at the body.
