How to Use a Vitamin C Clay Mask for Brighter Skin

The Vitamin C Clay Mask is Gleamin's signature product for a reason: clay lifts out congestion while vitamin C works on tone, so skin looks clearer and brighter after one session. Used wrong, though, any clay mask can leave skin tight and cranky. Here's the right way.

How often?

1–2 times per week. More is not better with clay — your skin barrier needs recovery days. Oily and combination skin can hold at twice weekly; dry or sensitive skin once weekly is plenty.

The session, step by step

  1. Start with clean, slightly damp skin (Clarifying Brightening Cleanser).
  2. Apply a coin-thick, even layer, avoiding eyes and lips.
  3. Take it off while it's still slightly tacky — 10 minutes max. Bone-dry clay starts pulling moisture back out of skin. Cracking at the edges is your cue.
  4. Remove with warm water and a soft cloth in circular motions.
  5. Follow immediately with Superactive Serum and the Advanced Brightening Moisturizer — freshly masked skin drinks up actives (full order in our routine guide).

What to expect

Immediately: smoother texture and a fresh, awake look. Over 4–6 weeks of consistent weekly use: more even tone and fewer lingering marks — which is where the vitamin C earns its keep. Don't skip morning SPF while you're brightening.
